Trace Monotype/Contour Drawing Workshop
Join us in a fun and freewheeling exploration of the intersection of drawing and printmaking! We will begin with blind contour drawing –a technique developed by artist Kimon Nikolaides and described in his classic book “The Natural Way to Draw.” Blind contour drawing allows people at every level of artistic skill to experience and depict their subject matter, in our case the plants of Field Farm, in a fresh and deeply considered way. We will then use our drawings to make two different types of trace monotype--one of the easiest types of prints to make without a press.
All participants under the age of 18 are free! Adults are asked to pay a $12 supply fee.
For directions to the Trustees of Reservations Field Farm, please go to' http://www.thetrustees.org/field-farm/' While this workshop is appropriate for all skill levels and all ages, participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. We will take a short lunch break midway through the class. Please reserve your space by texting Kelly at 617-529-0181 or by emailing her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
