Tractor-trailer filled with food flips on side in Williamstown
WILLIAMSTOWN — A tractor-trailer driver escaped unharmed after the 18-wheeler filled with food flipped onto its side early Monday morning on Cold Spring Road (Route 7) at the intersection with the Taconic Trail (Route 2), according to local authorities.
Williamstown police reported the accident happened around 5 a.m.when the semi somehow landed on the driver side of the rig in front of the A Frame Bakery as depicted in a photo on the police department's Facebook page.
Details of the single-vehicle crash and what might have caused the traffic mishap were unavailable Monday evening. It's unknown if police were filing any charges related to the crash. Traffic in the area was delayed throughout the day as workers unloaded the truck, in order to right and removed it from the scene.
The Massachusetts State Police are assisting with the investigation.
