Tractor trailer overturns on Pike; load of packages covers highway


LEE — A tractor trailer overturned Monday afternoon on the Massachusetts Turnpike at Exit 2, forcing state police to close the off- and on-ramps for the exit.

There were no serious injuries in the crash, state police said in a tweet shortly after 3 p.m. The on-ramps for he eastbound and westbound lanes have since been reopened, but the off-ramp remains closed.

Photos posted on Twitter showed a Budget truck overturned with its windshield shattered, and packages strewn across the interstate.
