Tropical Storm Michael might not affect region, but another system will
The storm that slammed into the Florida Panhandle on Wednesday is expected to track south of the Berkshires as it heads out into the Atlantic Ocean by Friday.
But an unrelated system approaching from the Midwest has prompted a flash flood watch for Western New England and adjacent New York counties from 8 a.m. Thursday until 2 a.m. Friday.
Locally heavy downpours over the Berkshires on Thursday could yield nearly 2 inches of rain before drier air moves in Friday morning, along with temperatures much more typical of mid-October.
