Two-vehicle accident topples sign at Olde Forge Restaurant

LANESBOROUGH — Three people escaped unharmed following a two-car crash that damaged the front of the Olde Forge Restaurant late Sunday afternoon.

Around 5:40 p.m., Lanesborough police reported two vehicles were northbound on Route 7 when the front vehicle attempted to make a left hand turn into the Old Forge parking lot.

The trailing car tried passing the lead car on the left, struck that automobile then hit the restaurant sign before coming to a rest up against an outside wall.

The two drivers and a passenger, none of whom were immediately identified by police, were not hurt. Police say fortunately no one was outside the eatery at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation.
