Tyringham voters approve budget, new dump truck
TYRINGHAM — Residents approved a $1.5 million town operating budget as well as the purchase of new equipment and roadway improvements at the recent annual town meeting.
Tyringham's fiscal 2020 budget is a 0.2 percent increase over this year's plan.
Voters approved all 19 measures presented at the May 14 meeting, including spending $73,000 to purchase a new dump truck with a plow and sander for the highway department and $55,000 on a replacement police cruiser.
Residents also voted to acquire about 15,000 square feet near Monterey Road as temporary easements. Town officials said the measure will secure a public right of way that will allow for replacement of the Monterey Road bridge.
