Warning issued about online retailer

PITTSFIELD — The Better Business Bureau that serves eastern Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island and Vermont has issued a warning to the public about Max Novelty, an online retailer that is apparently based in Providence, R.I.

Complaints from Max Novelty customers allege that the business does not inform the consumer of the correct shipping time periods. The complainants also indicated that tracking information for orders placed online shows that the items are shipping from China, and not the business' purported address in Rhode Island. As of Jan. 8, Max Novelty has 11 closed complaints filed with BBB.
