Where: Williamstown Elementary School, 115 Church St.

The Williamstown annual town meeting will address a variety of budgetary issues for the coming fiscal year and evaluate two proposed zoning law changes.

Duplexes: Article 32 would allow a single-family home to be made into a duplex by right, to allow for more diversity in the housing stock.

Accessory dwelling units: Article 33 would allow for new detached dwelling units to be built by right on conforming lots, also an effort to diversify the housing stock.

Appointed positions: Articles 15 and 16 would change the process of electing some town officials. Both Tree Warden and Fire Warden are elected positions that would become appointed positions if the articles pass. Some smaller town find it difficult to find willing candidates for such positions.

Ranked Voting: The last article, put forward through a citizen's petition, would authorize the Select Board to appoint a committee to explore whether ranked choice voting is feasible or advisable for the town.

Budget: $9,451,206 [not including the school budget]

Increase: 3 percent

Line Items:

$70,000: From Community Preservation to fund a grant to the Northern Berkshire Habitat For Humanity for development of two housing units at the intersection of Maple and Cole avenues.

$3,980: From Community Preservation to fund a grant to the Williamstown Historical Museum for the preservation of historically valuable documents

$34,800: From Community Preservation to fund a grant to Sand Springs Recreational Center for creating ADA accessibility to the second floor
