WILLIAMSTOWN — The Williamstown CO2 Lowering Committee is inviting the public to a Street Lighting Listening Session at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the new Williamstown Police Department, 825 Simonds Road.

The purpose of the meeting is to get input from residents about street lighting as the city embarks on plans to replace old inefficient street lighting in Williamstown. The goal of the lighting project is to improve lighting quality, save energy and reduce costs.

The project is a collaborative effort of Williamstown, the Williamstown Fire District and the Williamstown COOL Committee.

The COOL Committee will provide an update regarding the planned lighting audit and the timetable for replacing old, inefficient street lighting with quality LED lighting. The public is invited to ask questions and provide input regarding the initiative.
