Don't miss the big stories. Like us on Facebook.

The Hoosic River Watershed Association is holding a fly fishing program 2 p.m. Sunday, June 7, at the pond just beyond the Williamstown Transfer Station. The road to the transfer station departs from Route 7 north of the town center. A sign reads "River Access."

Experienced area fishermen will demonstrate casting and answer questions. No license is required to fish in Massachusetts that day. Bring a rod. After the demonstration, participants will adjourn to the adjacent Hoosic River to try their luck.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no individual instruction. Participants must wear a face mask, practice social distancing and there is no sharing of equipment.

RSVP is requested by Wednesday, June 3, to office@hoorwa.org or call 413-458-2742 to leave a message. Numbers will be limited and based on a first-come, first-served basis.
