Woman, 85, struck by van in Pittsfield
PITTSFIELD — An 85-year-old woman was seriously injured late Friday when she was struck by a van, police said.
The woman, whose name has not been released, was found in the area of 1035 South St. just after 9:30 p.m., according to a statement from Police Sgt. Marc Maddalena.
She apparently was trying to cross to the east side of the street when she was struck by a northbound Toyota Sienna driven by Linda Limoges, 53, of Manchester, Vt., the statement said.
The victim was taken to Berkshire Medical Center with serious injuries.As of 5 p.m. Saturday, the woman, who is from Lenox, was in stable condition and receiving treatment at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, police said.No other information was available.
