Woman, 90, injured when car strikes Pittsfield building

PITTSFIELD — A city woman suffered minor injuries Monday after crashing her car into a Dalton Avenue building, according to Pittsfield Police.

Muriel Fitzgerald, 90, was driving her 2007 Ford Taurus about 6 p.m. when she struck the MedExpress Urgent Care building at 999 Dalton Ave., according to police Sgt. Nick DeSantis.It was not clear what caused her to veer off the road.

County Ambulance transported Fitzgerald to Berkshire Medical Center for treatment.

"The car didn't penetrate the building, but it caused some structural damage to the outside," Fitzgerald said.
