ADAMS — Local authorities are looking for the person who vandalized the World War I Memorial Park on Columbia Street over the weekend.

Shortly after 8 a.m. on Saturday, the Adams Police Department were notified that someone damaged the two spotlights that illuminate the American flag at the park.

The department posted on its Facebook page that officers found a single set of footprints in the new fallen snow leading from the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail to the spotlights. An investigating officer found the footprints continued along Columbia Street. As of late Sunday afternoon, police were still looking for leads in the case. Anyone with information about the vandalism should contact the Adams Police Department at 413-743-1212.
