GHENT, N.Y. — The Ghent Playhouse is seeking proposals from directors interested in participating in the non-profit community theater's 2018-2019 season.

Those interested may submit up to three shows for consideration. According to a news release, the Playhouse is looking for "a well-rounded season of theater in all genres: comedy, drama, farce, classic, musical, etc."

In addition to its annual Panto, presented by the Pantoloons, the theater presents four productions each season, in the following time slots:

- October

Performances Oct. 5-7, 12-14 and 19-21

- November-December

Reserved for the Annual Panto

- February 2019

Performances — Feb. 1-3, 8-10 and 15-17

- March-April 2019

Performances — March 29-31; April 5-7 and 12-14

- May-June 2019

Performances — May 24-26, May 31-June 2 and June 7-9

Submission deadline is Feb. 10.

Applicants should provide name, address, telephone number, email address, and the title and playwright of the shows they wish to direct, along with a brief resume. Requested information may be emailed to, noting "2018-2019 Theater Season" in the subject box.

Prospective directors should mail copies of the scripts they are interested in to Cathy Lee-Visscher, c/o The Ghent Playhouse, PO Box 64, Ghent, New York 12075. If unable to do so, please send email requesting alternate arrangements.

Applicants also should indicate any conflicts with any of the time slots above, or if there is a particular time slot they would prefer.

Ghent Playhouse is at 6 Town Hall Place, just off Route 66.
